Milwaukee, WI – A late-winter storm is sweeping through Wisconsin, bringing thunderstorms, snow, and strong winds to much of the state. Rain will transition to snow by Wednesday evening, with a brief period of wintry mix before accumulation begins.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee, snowfall amounts will remain relatively low, with most areas receiving under three inches. However, bands of heavier snowfall combined with wind gusts up to 45 mph will create hazardous travel conditions, especially late Wednesday into early Thursday. A Wind Advisory is in effect through 7 a.m. Thursday.
Snowfall is expected to end from northwest to southeast between midnight and 7 a.m. Thursday, with Milwaukee and Kenosha among the last areas to see the system move out. Blowing snow may reduce visibility through the morning before winds subside.
Residents are advised to drive cautiously, secure outdoor objects, and stay updated on potential weather warnings. Travelers should check road conditions before heading out, as gusty winds could cause additional hazards.
