La Crosse, Wisconsin – Showers will taper off across western Wisconsin Friday, giving residents a brief break before more wet weather and possible severe storms return by the start of next week. Roads will begin to dry out Friday evening, but umbrellas won’t stay packed away for long.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, dry conditions are expected from Friday night through Saturday, with temperatures climbing from the upper 50s to mid-60s statewide. Showers and thunderstorms redevelop on Sunday, intensifying from Monday afternoon through Monday night, when numerous severe storms are possible. Highs will range from the 50s to the upper 70s, while overnight lows dip into the 30s and 50s.

Residents in La Crosse, Eau Claire, and surrounding counties should stay weather-aware, especially Monday and Tuesday. Travel may be impacted by heavy rainfall and strong storms early in the week. Emergency management recommends charging mobile devices, securing outdoor items, and having a plan in place if severe weather warnings are issued.
