Green Bay, WI – As Green Bay residents prepare for New Year’s celebrations, an arctic chill is setting in for the first week of 2025. Tuesday’s New Year’s Eve forecast predicts cloudy skies and a high of 35 degrees before temperatures plummet overnight to 27 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, conditions will worsen by New Year’s Day, with highs peaking at just 28 degrees. Wind chills will make it feel even colder, with lows on Wednesday dropping to a bone-chilling 15 degrees. Residents are advised to dress in layers and limit outdoor exposure during evening festivities.

The remainder of the week will bring little reprieve. Thursday’s high will reach only 24 degrees, with nighttime temperatures sinking to 10 degrees. By Friday, Green Bay can expect highs near 20 and lows dipping into the single digits, marking one of the coldest starts to the year in recent memory.

While snow chances remain minimal, icy roads, particularly on major thoroughfares like Interstate 43 and Highway 41, may pose travel hazards. Drivers should use caution and prepare vehicles for extended cold conditions. Keep emergency kits with blankets, water, and jumper cables handy.

The cold snap underscores the importance of checking on vulnerable neighbors, pets, and elderly family members as temperatures drop dangerously low.

Stay tuned to local updates for real-time weather advisories as Green Bay heads into 2025 with bitter cold dominating the forecast.
