Wisconsin – A thin glaze of ice coats sidewalks and bridges across Green Bay, turning routine drives into slow, careful navigation as conditions worsen through the morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, freezing rain is producing ice accumulations between 0.1 and 0.2 inches, with wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph. The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through late morning, with hazardous travel expected on untreated roads and elevated surfaces.

Across northeast Wisconsin, including Door, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc counties, roads like Highway 41 and I-43 are seeing slick spots develop quickly. Bridges and overpasses freeze first, increasing the risk of sudden loss of control. Tree limbs may also weaken under ice, leading to isolated power outages.

Conditions shift quickly by midday as temperatures climb into the 40s. Ice transitions to rain, but gusty winds continue to impact travel. Water may pool on roads as melting ice combines with steady rainfall. Use caution during the transition period when surfaces remain uneven and slick.

Meteorologists are tracking additional storm chances into Friday night, with another round of rain likely and a possible wintry mix returning in parts of northern Wisconsin. By Saturday, conditions turn cooler with lingering clouds before partial clearing Sunday.

Looking ahead, early next week trends colder at night, with temperatures dipping near freezing again. Any leftover moisture could refreeze, creating another round of slick travel during early morning hours.

Conditions are changing fast across Green Bay. Are roads icy where you are right now?
