Milwaukee, Wisconsin – A round of afternoon thunderstorms could soak southeast Wisconsin Thursday, bringing scattered downpours and slowed travel along major corridors like I-94 and I-43.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, showers are expected to develop Thursday morning, with a 60% chance of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. in Milwaukee. While rainfall amounts will likely stay under a tenth of an inch, stronger storms may produce heavier pockets of rain and brief gusty winds. The chance of precipitation remains elevated through Thursday night, especially south of Milwaukee.

Drivers should plan for reduced visibility and slick roads during the evening commute. Commuters on I-894, I-94, and Highway 41 should allow extra time and avoid flooded underpasses.

Friday offers no relief, with more showers likely throughout the day and evening. Saturday remains unsettled, especially during the morning hours, though the chance of rain drops heading into Sunday.

Residents are advised to check weather alerts before travel and secure outdoor items. While no spotter activation is currently needed, conditions will be monitored closely by the NWS for updates.
