Milwaukee, Wis. – Thunderstorms could roll into southeast Wisconsin by Tuesday night, bringing up to a half-inch of rain and possible gusts up to 30 mph across the Milwaukee area.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, Tuesday’s system will build through the afternoon with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms beginning after 1 p.m. That likelihood jumps to 80% overnight, especially south of I-94, with heavier rainfall possible into early Wednesday.

Daytime highs will peak around 82°F Tuesday before winds shift from the southwest at 10 to 15 mph. Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha could see spot flooding in low-lying areas, particularly if rainfall exceeds a half-inch. Commuters should prepare for slower drive times and use caution on slick roads during the Wednesday morning rush.

Showers may linger into Wednesday, tapering off by late afternoon, though another round of light rain remains possible through Wednesday night. Outdoor plans should be reconsidered midweek, and residents are urged to secure loose items and keep devices charged in case of brief outages.

Rain chances diminish into Thursday, but a lingering 30% threat remains. More updates are expected Tuesday morning as storm confidence increases.
