La Crosse, Wisconsin – Daily rounds of rain and scattered thunderstorms will continue across Wisconsin through Saturday, with the heaviest downpours expected Thursday into Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, the most active weather period will arrive late Thursday, bringing increased chances of thunderstorms and brief heavy rainfall across central and western parts of the state. Temperatures will stay mild for most of the week, with daytime highs ranging from the upper 50s to low 70s and overnight lows in the 40s and 50s.

Cities like Eau Claire, La Crosse, and Prairie du Chien could see localized flooding in low-lying areas if rain accumulates quickly. Outdoor events, school sports, and travel may face brief delays, especially Friday morning when road surfaces could be slick from overnight storms.

Residents are advised to keep umbrellas handy, check for lightning delays during commutes or evening activities, and avoid driving through standing water. While the rain will be periodic, the lingering wet pattern could make for muddy yards and parks through the weekend.

The storm chances taper off slightly by Saturday afternoon, though scattered showers may linger. Another round of alerts could be issued if rain totals trend higher than expected.
