La Crosse, WI — Breezy conditions and scattered thunderstorms are expected to affect the La Crosse area late Saturday afternoon and evening. This weather could bring gusty winds and potential travel disruptions, especially east of the Mississippi River.

According to the National Weather Service, residents should prepare for winds reaching up to 23 mph, particularly from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. While the chance of rain sits between 40% and 70%, some thunderstorms may develop during the evening. The storms are expected to clear out by midnight, bringing more stable conditions into Sunday.

Saturday’s high temperature will climb to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, though it will feel cooler by nightfall as temperatures drop into the low 50s. Winds will pick up from the southeast early in the day, becoming south-southwest as the cold front moves through. This may lead to hazardous driving conditions on main roadways, particularly on highways like Interstate 90 and U.S. Route 53, which run near the Mississippi River.

By Sunday, conditions will improve as the system clears. Expect sunny skies and cooler temperatures ranging from 57 to 69 degrees. Winds will calm down, making for a much more pleasant day. Next week looks promising with highs reaching 70°F by Tuesday, offering dry and sunny weather.
