Wisconsin – Low clouds stretch across Milwaukee and a damp breeze is building, signaling a shift toward wetter, stormier conditions that could disrupt travel by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms become likely later today, with rain chances increasing to near 100% tonight. Some storms may bring brief heavy rain and gusty winds, especially as a system moves through southeastern Wisconsin.

Across Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and West Allis, drivers along I-94, I-43, and Highway 41 should expect slick pavement and reduced visibility as rain intensifies. Winds may gust between 10 and 20 mph, adding to the challenge on open roads and bridges.

Temperatures hold in the upper 40s before cooler air arrives behind the system. By Saturday, conditions turn breezy with only scattered showers, and highs climb into the mid-50s. However, temperatures drop sharply again Saturday night, falling into the low 30s.

That temperature swing raises the risk for patchy slick spots early Sunday, especially on bridges and untreated roads if any moisture lingers. Plan ahead if traveling early.

Sunday brings gradual clearing with highs near the upper 40s, followed by a quiet but cool start to the new week. Another weak system could bring light showers by Monday.

Keep rain gear ready and allow extra time on the roads later today. Conditions will change quickly. Are roads already getting slick in your area?

Five Day Outlook for Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Today: High near 48°F, showers and storms developing
Saturday: High near 55°F, slight chance of showers, breezy
Sunday: High near 48°F, clearing skies
Monday: High near 47°F, slight chance of showers
Tuesday: High near 40°F, cooler and mostly sunny
