Milwaukee, WI – A wintry mix of freezing rain and snow is expected across southeastern Wisconsin tonight, creating hazardous travel conditions. Winds will intensify Thursday, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, snow and freezing rain will develop before 3 a.m., with lingering slick spots into the morning commute. Accumulation is expected to be minimal, but untreated roads and bridges could become dangerously icy. Southeast winds of 10–15 mph will shift southwest overnight.

By Thursday afternoon, winds will increase, with gusts up to 45 mph. Temperatures will peak at 39°F before dropping to 14°F overnight. Drivers should use caution on highways, including I-94 and I-43, as reduced visibility and strong winds may impact travel.

Looking ahead, Friday will bring calmer conditions with partly sunny skies and highs near 29°F. However, another round of snow is possible Saturday, with heavier accumulations likely into the evening.

Residents should prepare for changing conditions by securing loose objects and planning extra travel time. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and road conditions through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
