Green Bay, Wis. – Drivers across central and eastern Wisconsin could face visibility near zero this morning as dense fog blankets the region from Wausau to Manitowoc.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, patchy but locally dense fog developed before sunrise across multiple counties, including Vilas, Oneida, Marathon, Portage, Brown, and Door. Visibility may drop to a quarter mile or less in isolated spots, particularly along Highway 29 and I-41, through at least 9 a.m.
Areas at higher risk include the Fox Valley, north-central zones such as Forest and Langlade counties, and coastal communities near Lake Michigan. Motorists are urged to slow down, keep headlights on low beam, and watch for sudden changes in visibility on rural highways and bridges.
The fog is expected to gradually lift by mid-morning as temperatures rise. No official advisory has been issued, but conditions may warrant caution during the early commute.
More travel updates or advisories may be issued if fog persists beyond 9 a.m.
