Wisconsin – A rainy start to the week will bring up to 2.75 inches of rainfall across parts of Wisconsin Monday and Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting widespread rain, with higher totals expected along the I-94 corridor.

According to the NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan office, rain will move in Monday afternoon and continue overnight into Tuesday morning. Areas east of I-39/90 have a 40–60% chance of receiving over an inch of rain, increasing the risk of ponding on roads. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility and slippery conditions during the evening commute Monday.

By midweek, a strong cold front will drop temperatures into the mid-30s, setting the stage for a wintry mix late Tuesday into Wednesday. The NWS warns that freezing rain and sleet could impact travel in southern Wisconsin, particularly during overnight hours. While little accumulation is expected, icy spots may develop on bridges and overpasses, especially in rural areas.

Looking ahead, Thursday is forecast to be drier but cold, with highs only reaching the low 40s. Residents are encouraged to clear fallen leaves from storm drains to reduce localized flooding risk and to monitor weather updates as conditions evolve.

Stay alert for further updates on this week’s active weather pattern. Plan your travel carefully, and allow extra time if commuting during peak rain periods.
