Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Lingering smoke, poor air quality, and weekend showers are converging on Milwaukee, threatening outdoor plans and air safety through Monday.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, an Air Quality Advisory remains in effect through noon Thursday across southern and eastern Wisconsin, including Milwaukee County. Sensitive groups — especially those with asthma or heart disease — should limit time outdoors and keep medication on hand.
The smoky haze is expected to improve by late Thursday, but Friday brings a new round of changes. Skies will turn partly sunny with a high near 71°F, offering brief relief. However, clouds return Saturday as rain and potential thunderstorms move in Sunday, particularly after 1 p.m., with an 80% chance of precipitation. Travel on I-94 and surrounding highways could be impacted by reduced visibility and slick roads.
Sunday’s high will stay near 70°F, but shifting winds and rainfall between a quarter and half an inch could disrupt outdoor events. Showers may linger into Monday, with a 20% chance, tapering off by the evening.
Looking ahead, clearer skies and rising temperatures return Tuesday and Wednesday, setting up a sunnier midweek pattern.
