La Crosse, Wisconsin – Wisconsin drivers should stay alert Wednesday as thunderstorms and gusty winds target La Crosse starting after 1 p.m., bringing heat near 84°F.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, scattered storms could develop across the region Tuesday afternoon, with winds from the west up to 10 mph. While severe weather isn’t expected, downpours and isolated lightning may disrupt afternoon travel, especially along U.S. 14 and I-90. The chance of rain stands at 30%.

Looking ahead through Saturday:

  • Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 84°F before a slight chance of showers and storms develops after 4 p.m. Rain increases into the night with a 70% chance and lows around 66°F.
  • Thursday: Storms continue, especially in the morning, with a high near 72°F. Travel may be impacted again due to wet roads.
  • Friday: A break in the pattern brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 71°F. Nighttime lows dip to 57°F under mostly cloudy skies.
  • Saturday: Another 30% rain chance moves in with highs near 74°F. South winds will increase to 7 mph.
