La Crosse, WI – Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across La Crosse this afternoon and continue into the evening. With large hail, damaging winds, and the possibility of a tornado, residents should prepare to seek shelter, particularly during the peak storm hours between 4 and 10 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, storms will first form over southern Minnesota and northern Iowa before moving eastward into western Wisconsin. The primary threats include hail up to 1.5 inches and wind gusts as high as 60 mph.
