Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Showers and thunderstorms could disrupt travel and outdoor plans across southeast Wisconsin through Friday, with the heaviest impacts likely Wednesday afternoon into the evening. Drivers around Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay should prepare for periods of rain, possible lightning, and brief gusty winds as storms develop.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, there’s a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Milwaukee area on Wednesday, especially between 2 and 3 p.m. Additional rounds of rain and scattered storms are possible Thursday and Friday, with strong to severe storms not ruled out for early next week.

Roads may become slick, particularly during the evening commute, and isolated power outages are possible if stronger storms hit. Residents should secure outdoor items, monitor local alerts, and consider shifting any outdoor activities to the weekend, when calmer, sunnier weather is expected. Make sure cell phones are charged in case of power disruptions and avoid driving through flooded streets.

Showers taper by Friday night, setting up a cooler, mostly sunny Saturday. More storms could return by Monday.
