Milwaukee, Wis. – Isolated thunderstorms could bring hail and gusty winds to parts of southern Wisconsin Thursday, with rain becoming more widespread by Friday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, storm chances rise tonight as a cold front sweeps through the region. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to intensify across the state Friday afternoon, particularly south of Madison and along the I-94 corridor. Some storms may produce small hail, especially in stronger cells developing later today.

Communities like Kenosha, Janesville, and West Bend should prepare for slick roads and brief power outages as rain totals rise. Storm activity should taper off by Friday night, giving way to sunny skies and cooler air for Saturday and Sunday. Highs will range from the upper 40s to mid-60s depending on location, with lakeside areas staying on the cooler side.

Drivers are encouraged to monitor road conditions and delay non-essential travel during periods of heavy rain. Keep devices charged and secure outdoor items ahead of potential wind gusts.

The next round of storms could return Sunday night. Weather alerts may be updated as the weekend approaches.
