Wisconsin Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Strong Storms Expected Until 4 AM Saturday

Milwaukee, WI – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for multiple counties in Wisconsin, with strong storms expected to impact the region through early Saturday morning. The National Weather Service warns of potential damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and large hail.

According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center, the watch is in effect until 4 a.m. CDT and includes Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Milwaukee, Racine, and Waukesha counties, among others. Residents in Iowa and Minnesota, including Allamakee, Clayton, and Winneshiek counties in Iowa and Fillmore, Houston, and Winona counties in Minnesota, are also under a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 a.m. CDT.

The storms could produce wind gusts exceeding 60 mph and hail up to an inch in diameter. Localized flooding may also occur in low-lying areas. Authorities advise residents to remain indoors during severe weather and to have multiple ways to receive alerts.

Those in affected areas should secure outdoor objects, avoid travel if possible, and seek shelter if a warning is issued. Stay updated through the National Weather Service and local emergency channels.
