La Crosse, WI – A frigid weekend continues across Wisconsin, with bitterly cold temperatures and light snow expected early this week. Residents in La Crosse should prepare for Sunday morning wind chills as low as -15°F, with daytime highs struggling to reach 24°F.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a mix of sun and clouds will dominate Sunday, with a slight chance of snow flurries developing overnight. The cold pattern persists Monday, keeping highs near 27°F. Those traveling on Highway 53 or nearby routes should plan for icy patches due to sub-freezing temperatures.

A brief warm-up is forecast for Wednesday, bringing highs near 35°F before temperatures drop sharply again. Snow showers are possible Tuesday into Wednesday, with only minor accumulations expected. Morning commuters on Tuesday and Wednesday should allow extra travel time and remain cautious on slick roads.

By Thursday and Friday, the cold intensifies, with highs dropping to the low 20s. Northwest winds will keep wind chills low throughout the week.

The NWS recommends layering up and limiting outdoor exposure during peak morning cold periods. Stay updated on weather conditions at weather.gov/la-crosse and monitor local forecasts for any sudden changes.
