La Crosse, WI – Gusty winds up to 45 mph and unseasonably mild temperatures will dominate the region today, creating potential travel hazards on I-90. Wind gusts may make driving difficult for high-profile vehicles, and outdoor items should be secured.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) La Crosse, today’s high will reach 36°F, with winds shifting northwest at 6 to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph. A warm-up continues into Thursday, with highs near 49°F—possibly challenging record temperatures. Winds will be lighter, but gusts may still reach 22 mph.

By Friday, temperatures dip slightly to 35°F under sunny skies, followed by a colder weekend. Saturday brings a 30% chance of afternoon snow, with highs near 33°F. Snow chances linger into Sunday, with gusty northwest winds returning.

Drivers along I-90 should stay alert for sudden wind gusts and changing road conditions later this week. Check forecasts frequently and secure loose outdoor objects before winds peak Wednesday afternoon.
