According to the National Weather Service, a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight to 11 a.m. Monday for east-central, south-central, and southeast Wisconsin. Wind chills could cause frostbite in just 30 minutes.
Temperatures will struggle to rise above single digits Monday, with breezy conditions making it feel even colder. Tuesday remains frigid with highs near 10°F, while a slight warming trend begins Wednesday with a high of 14°F.
Light snow is possible late Tuesday into Wednesday night, with another cold snap expected late in the week. Travelers should take extra precautions on the roads as icy conditions may develop.
Residents are urged to dress in layers, wear insulated gloves and hats, and check on vulnerable individuals. Pets should also be brought indoors. The bitter cold could impact commutes and outdoor activities, so plan accordingly.
