Wisconsin and Iowa to Face Wind Chills as Low as -35 Saturday Night

La Crosse, WI – A cold weather advisory is in effect across portions of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin starting Saturday night. The National Weather Service warns of wind chills as low as 35 below zero.

The advisory will begin at 9 p.m. Saturday and continue through noon Sunday. According to the NWS, cities including La Crosse, Rochester, and Decorah will experience bitter cold conditions. Wind chills this low can cause frostbite on exposed skin within 10 minutes.

Residents in the affected regions are urged to limit outdoor activities and bundle up if travel is unavoidable. Experts recommend wearing multiple layers, hats, and gloves to prevent hypothermia and frostbite.

The advisory covers areas of north-central and northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and central and western Wisconsin. Officials caution that the dangerously cold temperatures could impact travel and outdoor events throughout the region.
