Louisville, KY – Kentucky residents can look forward to a gradual warmup heading into the weekend, offering relief after a week of bitter cold and icy conditions. Warmer days and sunny skies are on the way, although nighttime temperatures will still dip below freezing.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, Friday will see sunny skies with highs reaching 28 degrees. While the sun will help melt ice on roadways, overnight lows will fall to 18 degrees, keeping some areas slippery, especially on bridges and shaded roads.

Saturday brings a significant warmup as temperatures rise to a high of 44 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Southwest winds of 6 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 21 mph, will make the day feel brisk but pleasant. Expect a low of 29 degrees Saturday night, with conditions remaining dry.

Sunday’s weather continues the trend of mild temperatures, with highs near 42 degrees. Clouds will gradually increase throughout the day, and there’s a small chance of light rain or snow in the evening. Lows will drop to around 25 degrees Sunday night.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will offer more of the same mild winter weather. Monday’s high will reach 44 degrees under sunny skies, making it an ideal day for outdoor errands or activities. Overnight, lows will hover around 31 degrees. Tuesday stays sunny with another high near 44 degrees, signaling a quiet start to next week.

While daytime conditions will improve significantly, caution is still advised overnight and during early morning hours when icy patches could persist. Take advantage of the milder weather for outdoor plans, but stay alert for changing road conditions in the evenings.
