Gaylord, MI – A winter weather advisory has been issued for Northern Michigan, warning of heavy snow from midnight tonight through early Saturday. Total snowfall may reach up to 10 inches in some areas, with hazardous conditions likely.
The National Weather Service stated that regions including Antrim, Charlevoix, and Chippewa Counties could see accumulations between 4 and 8 inches, while higher amounts are possible in localized spots. Travel will be difficult, particularly during the Friday morning and evening commutes.
According to the advisory, the heaviest snowfall will occur overnight Thursday into Friday. Motorists are urged to reduce speed and allow extra time for travel. Slippery roads and reduced visibility are expected to complicate conditions further.
Residents should also monitor weather updates and prepare for potential delays. The advisory remains in effect through 4 a.m. Saturday, with additional snow showers possible.
