Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa Until Saturday Morning

Omaha, NE – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for parts of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, including Omaha, Lincoln, and Council Bluffs. Mixed precipitation is expected, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall accumulations could reach up to one inch, with ice accumulations as high as two-tenths of an inch. The advisory covers areas near and south of Interstate 80, where slippery roads may disrupt the Friday evening commute.

Wintry precipitation is forecast to start Friday afternoon, spreading northward through the evening. Conditions are expected to transition to rain from midnight to early Saturday morning, though northeast Nebraska could continue to see a mix of precipitation.
