Charleston, WV – Residents across parts of West Virginia are bracing for continued snowfall, with up to 4 inches of accumulation expected by Thursday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The advisory covers areas including Upshur, Barbour, Nicholas, Webster, Pocahontas, and Randolph counties. Snowfall, combined with wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph, is likely to create slick and hazardous road conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

According to the NWS, the snowfall is expected to impact both morning and evening commutes on Wednesday, with conditions potentially worsening overnight. Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and allow extra time for travel. Pedestrians should exercise caution on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways, as surfaces may become icy and increase the risk of falls.

The latest updates on road conditions can be accessed by dialing 511 or visiting local Department of Transportation websites. For additional weather updates, visit the National Weather Service website or follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
