Pittsburgh, PA – Residents across Pennsylvania can expect continued frigid weather this week, with subzero wind chills and light snow showers forecasted. Temperatures are set to remain below freezing until Friday, with some relief possible over the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers are likely Wednesday afternoon and evening, with minor accumulations of less than one inch. Winds of up to 12 mph will create wind chill values as low as -2 degrees, posing a risk of frostbite for those exposed to the cold for extended periods.

The cold will linger Thursday, with a high near 29 degrees, before temperatures inch upward to 38 degrees Friday. A chance of rain arrives Friday night into Saturday, as highs climb into the low 40s.

Drivers on I-376 and other major roadways should remain cautious during snow showers and overnight freezes, as black ice may develop. Pedestrians are advised to bundle up and avoid prolonged exposure to cold wind gusts, especially in open areas.

Looking ahead, the weekend promises a mix of rain and milder temperatures, though rain may cause slick conditions. Keep an eye on local forecasts for updates.

Stay prepared by layering clothing, keeping emergency kits in vehicles, and allowing extra travel time during snow or ice events.
