Seattle, WA – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Cascades from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Heavy snowfall and icy conditions are expected above elevations of 4,500 feet, making travel hazardous.

Snowfall in the affected areas, including Longmire, Ashford, and Paradise, could range from 3 to 10 inches. Light ice accumulation is also possible, increasing the risk of slippery roads. Key destinations like Crystal Mountain Ski Area and Randle should prepare for significant impacts.

According to the National Weather Service, travel could become treacherous during periods of moderate to heavy snow. Drivers are advised to slow down, use caution, and carry emergency supplies. Power outages may occur in some areas due to ice buildup.

Residents and travelers are urged to plan ahead, monitor local weather updates, and avoid non-essential trips if conditions worsen.
