Huntsville, AL – An arctic blast is set to bring frigid temperatures, rain, and potential snow to Huntsville this week, creating hazardous travel conditions. Drivers should prepare for slick roads by Tuesday night as a wintry mix moves in.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will see partly sunny skies and a high of 49°F before temperatures plummet overnight. Rain and snow showers are expected late Tuesday, with gusty northeast winds making conditions worse. By Wednesday morning, lingering snow could cause icy patches on roads, with highs struggling to reach 38°F.

Wednesday night will be bitterly cold, dropping to 15°F, with wind chills making it feel even colder. Thursday and Friday will stay frigid, with highs of 29°F and 39°F, respectively, and mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will dip into the teens, increasing the risk of frozen pipes.

Residents should dress in layers, avoid unnecessary travel during icy conditions, and prepare their homes for extreme cold. Stay updated with official forecasts and emergency alerts for any changes.
