Harman, WV – A winter storm watch remains in effect for Pocahontas and Randolph counties from late Tuesday through Wednesday night. Forecasters predict heavy snow, high winds, and hazardous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm could deliver up to 8 inches of snow and wind gusts as high as 50 mph. Snow is expected to begin after midnight on Tuesday, following rain earlier in the evening. Higher elevations above 3,000 feet will see the heaviest snowfall.

Officials warn that roads, bridges, and overpasses may become slick and dangerous during the storm. Falling tree limbs, combined with strong winds and snow weight, could lead to sporadic power outages. Drivers are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and prepare for limited visibility and icy conditions.

Residents should monitor weather updates and have an emergency kit ready, including flashlights and blankets. The storm’s intensity and timing may change as forecasts develop.
