La Crosse, WI – A significant winter storm is expected to impact parts of southeast Minnesota and central Wisconsin this weekend, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday evening, with snowfall accumulations ranging from 4 to 8 inches, and localized areas potentially exceeding 6 inches along the I-90 corridor and northward.
Forecasters warn that travel could be very difficult, and shifting storm tracks may result in adjustments to snowfall amounts and locations. Residents with weekend travel plans are urged to monitor updated forecasts and prepare for potential delays.
The affected area includes Rochester, La Crosse, Winona, Tomah, Medford, and Black River Falls, among other cities. Snow is expected to begin overnight Friday and continue throughout Saturday before tapering off by the evening.
