Albany, NY – The National Weather Service in Albany has continued a Winter Storm Watch for Hamilton, Herkimer, and Northern Fulton Counties, in effect from late Tuesday night through Thursday morning (December 10–11, 2025).
Forecasters are tracking a developing winter storm that could bring heavy snow to portions of the southern Adirondacks, with total accumulations between 3 and 10 inches possible.
The heaviest snowfall is expected Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening, where snowfall rates may exceed 1 inch per hour at times. Visibility will drop sharply in bursts of heavy snow, especially north of the New York Thruway (I-90) in Herkimer County.
Roads, bridges, and overpasses will likely become slick and hazardous, impacting both the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
Travelers are advised to monitor updated forecasts, prepare for possible Winter Storm Warnings, and exercise extreme caution if driving during periods of heavy snowfall.
