Charleston, WV – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for parts of West Virginia, with heavy snow and high winds forecasted through early Thursday.

The National Weather Service reports that Northwest Pocahontas, Southeast Randolph, and Southeast Webster counties could see snowfall totals between 5 and 10 inches. Wind gusts up to 55 mph may cause damage to trees and power lines, leading to possible outages. Hazardous road conditions are expected, particularly during Wednesday’s morning and evening commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, travelers should carry emergency supplies, including a flashlight, food, and water. Those in affected areas are advised to monitor road conditions by calling 511 and to avoid unnecessary travel.
