Wilmington, OH – A significant winter storm continues to impact portions of southeast Indiana, northern Kentucky, and southwest Ohio, with the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing a Winter Storm Warning in effect until midnight EST tonight.

The storm is expected to bring additional snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 4 inches in many areas, with ice accumulations reaching up to two-tenths of an inch in Kentucky. Wind gusts as high as 35 mph could further exacerbate hazardous conditions, creating slippery roads and reducing visibility for travelers.

According to the NWS, the affected areas include counties such as Franklin, Ripley, and Switzerland in Indiana; Boone, Kenton, and Campbell in Kentucky; and Butler, Warren, and Hamilton in Ohio. Other areas such as Franklin and Licking counties in central Ohio may see similar conditions. The Monday morning and evening commutes are expected to be particularly treacherous.

Residents are advised to avoid non-essential travel and prepare for possible power outages. Those who must travel are urged to carry emergency supplies, including flashlights, food, and water. Updated road conditions can be accessed via 511in.org in Indiana, goky.ky.gov in Kentucky, and ohgo.com in Ohio.

Stay informed and exercise caution as this storm system continues to develop.
