Charleston, WV – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for parts of West Virginia, including Northwest Pocahontas and Southeast Randolph counties, until 7 p.m. Saturday, as hazardous weather conditions persist.

According to the National Weather Service, the region can expect heavy mixed precipitation, with up to one inch of snow and a light glaze of ice possible. Winds gusting up to 40 mph may contribute to slick roads and the potential for falling tree branches, creating dangerous travel conditions.

Residents are urged to delay travel whenever possible. If driving is necessary, officials recommend bringing emergency supplies, allowing extra time to reach destinations, and using caution on hills and during turns. Sudden changes in visibility and road conditions are likely throughout the day.

The earlier Blizzard Warning has expired, but weather-related impacts are expected to continue through the evening.

For updates on road conditions, call 511, and for further information, visit weather.gov/rlx or follow the National Weather Service on social media.
