Binghamton, NY – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Friday morning and midday, with freezing rain and ice expected. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of slick roads and hazardous travel conditions.

According to NWS Binghamton, precipitation will begin in the early morning and move northward. Freezing rain and light rain are likely, with ice accumulation expected between 0.01 and 0.10 inches. Higher elevations may see the most significant icing.

The storm is expected to start between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m., depending on location. Motorists should plan for extra travel time and use caution on icy roads.
