Cleveland, OH – A major winter storm will bring a mix of snow, rain, and freezing conditions to northeast Ohio this weekend, creating hazardous travel and fluctuating temperatures. Residents should prepare for icy roads, reduced visibility, and potential flooding.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will develop late Friday into early Saturday, with accumulations expected before a transition to rain by Saturday afternoon. Highs will reach near 40°F, but wind chills will remain low. Rain will continue into Saturday night before changing back to snow Sunday morning. Gusty winds up to 31 mph may cause blowing snow and difficult driving conditions.

Lingering lake-effect snow showers are possible through Monday, especially near Lake Erie. Wind chills will drop to near 0°F at times, increasing the risk of frostbite for those outdoors for extended periods.

Drivers should be cautious, particularly on major highways like I-71, where ice and slush may create treacherous conditions. River ice jams could lead to minor flooding in some areas.

Stay updated with local forecasts and prepare for winter travel disruptions. Check road conditions before heading out and allow extra travel time.
