Spokane, WA – A winter storm is set to impact Spokane this Valentine’s Day weekend, bringing snow, freezing temperatures, and hazardous road conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory through Friday night, with snowfall expected to increase throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin Friday morning and continue into the evening, with accumulations of 1 to 2 inches possible. Saturday night could see an additional 2 inches, making travel conditions difficult across the area. Drivers on I-90 and surrounding roadwaysshould prepare for reduced visibility and icy surfaces.
Looking ahead, Sunday will bring the heaviest snowfall, with a 90% chance of snow and temperatures near 37°F. By Monday, conditions will remain cold, with lingering snow showers.
Residents should plan accordingly, limit travel if possible, and dress in warm layers. If heading out for Valentine’s Day celebrations, allow extra time for travel and check road conditions frequently.
