Southern Colorado is in for a winter blast this week, with snow showers and below-normal temperatures forecasted through Thursday. Pueblo and the I-25 corridor could see accumulating snowfall, with travel disruptions expected on mountain passes and key roadways.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will develop Monday night and continue through Thursday morning. The first round will bring light accumulations of less than an inch. A stronger system arrives Tuesday evening into Wednesday, delivering 2 to 4 inches of snow across the region. Gusty winds could create hazardous driving conditions, especially over the Palmer Divide and mountain passes.

Daytime highs in Pueblo will struggle to reach the 30s, while nighttime lows drop to near zero by Wednesday night. Wind chills could make it feel even colder.

Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, particularly on I-25 and east of the Continental Divide. Residents should dress in layers and ensure their homes and vehicles are winter-ready.

Conditions improve by Friday, with sunny skies and a high near 53°F. Until then, expect frigid temperatures and intermittent snow showers across the region.
