Pocatello, ID – A wind advisory has been issued for parts of southeastern Idaho, with strong southwest winds expected to impact travel and visibility on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The advisory is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT, covering areas including Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and other cities across the Lower and Upper Snake River Plains.
According to the National Weather Service, winds are forecast to reach 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. These gusty winds could pose challenges for drivers, particularly those in high-profile vehicles. Blowing dust may also reduce visibility, especially along Interstate 15 north of Idaho Falls, where agricultural activities have already begun for the season.
Travelers are urged to use extra caution, particularly on highways and open roads, as unsecured objects may be blown around by the strong winds. The combination of gusty winds and blowing dust could make driving hazardous at times.
