Pittsburgh, PA – Western Pennsylvania residents should prepare for a rainy start to Thanksgiving week, followed by freezing temperatures and a chance of snow by Black Friday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), light rain will develop Monday afternoon, continuing into Tuesday morning. Rainfall amounts are expected to remain light, ranging between 0.10 and 0.40 inches. Temperatures will remain seasonable early in the week, with highs near 50°F on Monday and Tuesday.

By midweek, colder air will settle into the region. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, with high temperatures dropping to the mid-40s. On Thanksgiving Day, temperatures will take a significant plunge, with daytime highs in the low 40s and nighttime lows falling into the 20s. The NWS is monitoring a weather system expected to bring snow on Friday, which could affect post-holiday travel and Black Friday shoppers.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution, particularly along major roadways such as I-376 and I-79. The possibility of icy conditions and reduced visibility could lead to travel delays. Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the latest forecasts and plan accordingly for the week ahead.
