Western Pennsylvania Spring Weather Outlook: Showers Start Sunday Night, Chance of Snow Midweek

Pittsburgh, PA –Showers return to the Pittsburgh region tonight, kicking off a windy and wet start to the first full week of spring. With gusts reaching up to 34 mph on Monday and additional chances for rain and snow midweek, residents should plan for unsettled conditions through Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will begin after 8 p.m. Sunday and continue overnight with a 100% chance of precipitation. Temperatures will dip to around 43°F before warming to 56°F by Monday afternoon. Winds will shift from southeast to southwest, increasing in intensity and bringing gusts as high as 34 mph by midday Monday.

Travelers along I-376 and commuters throughout Allegheny County should expect slick roads and delays during the Monday morning drive. Monday night will remain breezy with a low near 35°F, followed by a mostly sunny and mild Tuesday with a high of 52°F.

Wednesday brings the next round of precipitation. There’s a 30% chance of snow showers early, transitioning into rain and snow mix through the afternoon. Daytime highs will reach 48°F, but overnight lows fall near 29°F under mostly clear skies.

Thursday and Friday trend drier and warmer, with highs near 56°F and 60°F, respectively. Another round of rain could arrive by next weekend, but long-range trends suggest spring will continue slowly warming.
