Western Pennsylvania Forecast: Cloudy Tuesday, Harvest Supermoon Eclipse to Light Up the Sky

Pittsburgh, PA – Western Pennsylvania is in for a cooler start to the week, with high temperatures reaching around 79 degrees today under partly cloudy skies. Tonight will stay calm, but tomorrow night brings a celestial event as Pittsburgh residents can witness a rare partial lunar eclipse alongside the harvest supermoon.

According to the National Weather Service, high clouds will increase on Tuesday, cooling temperatures to a high of 75 degrees. The partial lunar eclipse begins at 8:41 p.m. EDT, with the best viewing at 10:44 p.m. when 8% of the moon will be covered. The eclipse will continue until 12:47 a.m. Wednesday. Despite some cloud cover, it should be visible for much of the region.

Looking ahead, Wednesday has a 40% chance of rain, with temperatures continuing to cool through the week. Drivers are advised to take caution on I-376 and other major roadways during cloudy periods. Those hoping to view the eclipse should plan ahead for optimal viewing conditions as the skies may clear up late Tuesday night.
