Buffalo, NY – A wind advisory is in effect for Erie, Niagara, and Chautauqua Counties from 4 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday, as high winds are expected to sweep across the region.
According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are anticipated, with gusts potentially reaching up to 50 mph. The advisory specifically targets areas near the Lake Erie shoreline and the Niagara River, where wind conditions are likely to be strongest.
Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects and exercise caution while driving, especially those in high-profile vehicles. The strong winds may result in scattered power outages and minor damage, such as fallen tree limbs.
The advisory will remain in effect overnight, with winds expected to subside by early Sunday morning.
