Buffalo, NY — Showers are expected to roll into Buffalo today, with residents and commuters advised to prepare for possible rain by late afternoon. Winds from the southwest could gust up to 26 mph, impacting visibility and driving conditions on I-90 and throughout the region. As the day progresses, increasing cloud cover will give way to cooler temperatures, topping out near 59°F.

According to the National Weather Service, the rain is expected to begin after 3 p.m., with a 30% chance of showers. Winds will remain steady between 10 to 15 mph, but gusts may reach as high as 26 mph, particularly along open stretches of I-90. Motorists are urged to use caution, as the gusty winds combined with rain may reduce visibility, especially during the afternoon rush hour.

Tonight, clouds will linger with an increased chance of showers, particularly before 8 p.m. Temperatures will dip to around 41°F, with winds calming slightly, blowing from the northwest at 7 to 11 mph. Rainfall accumulation is expected to be light but could still create slick roads for late-night drivers.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies with cooler temperatures, peaking at 54°F. Winds will shift to the northwest, calming down to 6-8 mph, making for a crisp but pleasant day.

Buffalo can expect a wet weekend, with rain chances increasing on Saturday night and continuing into Sunday. Sunday’s high will hover around 64°F, with a 70% chance of showers. Those with outdoor plans, especially for Columbus Day, should prepare for rain and possible disruptions to travel plans.
