Paducah, KY – A strong storm system will bring heavy rainfall to western Kentucky from Wednesday night through Friday morning. Widespread rain totals of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are expected, with some areas receiving up to 4 inches.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a Flood Watch is in effect from 3 a.m. Thursday to 3 a.m. Friday. Flooding may occur in low-lying and flood-prone areas. The heaviest rainfall will likely arrive Thursday afternoon and evening.
Officials urge residents to stay alert, as the exact location of the heaviest rain remains uncertain. Never drive through flooded roads, and seek higher ground if needed.
Emergency crews remain on standby in case of flash flooding. Residents should monitor local forecasts and prepare for possible travel disruptions.
