Paducah, KY – A rainy weekend is in store for western Kentucky, with heavy rain continuing through Sunday before clearer skies arrive next week. Drivers on I-24 should expect reduced visibility and slick roads throughout the weekend, with the heaviest rain expected Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, Paducah is forecasted to experience a 90% chance of rain on Saturday, with rain likely continuing into Saturday night. Showers will persist, tapering off by Sunday, but there remains a 50% chance of rain into Sunday afternoon. Residents should prepare for gusty northwest winds up to 25 mph, particularly on Saturday, which could create hazardous conditions on roadways.

By Monday, the weather will shift, bringing partly sunny skies with highs near 79°F. Tuesday is set to be mostly sunny, with a high near 83°F. The clear skies and calmer winds will provide a welcome change from the weekend’s wet conditions.

Officials are urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel on Saturday and remain cautious if driving. Standing water may accumulate, especially along highways like I-24, increasing the risk of hydroplaning. The chance for rain will diminish significantly Sunday night, leading to dry and mild conditions early next week, perfect for outdoor activities starting Monday.

Stay updated on changing conditions and expect clearer skies by midweek as temperatures begin to rise, reaching the low 80s by Tuesday.
