According to the National Weather Service, Doppler radar detected another round of moderate to heavy rain moving into the region. Between 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain have already fallen, with up to 0.5 additional inches possible. Residents in flood-prone areas should remain alert, as rivers and creeks continue to rise.
Roadways, including major routes near Charleston and Beckley, could see water accumulation, making travel hazardous. Officials urge drivers to avoid flooded roads and seek alternate routes.
Looking ahead, Sunday will bring mostly cloudy skies with a high of 42°F. Monday remains dry and sunny, but Tuesday introduces a winter mix of rain and snow. Snowfall accumulation is possible in higher elevations.
