Charleston, WV – A much drier and less stormy pattern is ahead for West Virginia over the next few days, offering some relief after recent heavy rains and thunderstorms. The National Weather Service is forecasting a slight chance of storms Thursday, but nothing as severe as the weather the region has been experiencing lately.
According to the NWS, Wednesday will bring a chance of showers in the northeast mountains, with mostly dry conditions elsewhere. Clouds will gradually increase throughout the day, with highs reaching the 70s. By Thursday, expect mostly cloudy skies and increasing chances of rain, especially in the afternoon. A slight chance of thunderstorms will remain, but the area should remain dry by nightfall. Highs will again be in the 70s.
Friday looks to offer a break from the storms, with partly cloudy skies and mainly dry conditions. There is a slight chance of showers in the mountains, with highs dipping slightly into the 60s.
