Charleston, WV – West Virginia residents can expect a mix of sun and clouds early this week before rain moves in midweek. Temperatures will warm up, but showers could impact travel and outdoor plans starting Wednesday night.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skies with a high near 55°F, but cloud cover will increase by evening. By Wednesday, temperatures will rise to 64°F under partly sunny skies. However, a 40% chance of showers develops overnight into Thursday, with precipitation increasing to 70% by midday. Highs Thursday will reach 53°F before cooling off into the mid-30s overnight.

The five-day outlook suggests a return to drier conditions by Friday, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 50°F. The weekend will stay mild, with Saturday’s high near 58°F and Sunday reaching 46°F. Overnight lows will hover in the mid-30s.

Travelers should watch for wet road conditions Thursday, especially during morning commutes. The rain could lead to slick roads on I-64 and surrounding highways. Keep an umbrella handy and plan for possible delays.
